Why Yogilates for pregnant women?

One of the most important aspects of any Yogilates class is the possibility to get in contact with your own body and there is not a better time to do this than when you are pregnant.
Yogilates helps you to let go of accumulated tension and so it allows you relax very deeply. It is very important that a pregnant woman is able to really enjoy the whole process because during this time the woman is actually at its best. She is more sensitive to things around her (it is not that pregnant women are oversensitive, but the reality is that the rest of the world is often quite insensitive), more receptive, more open. Her woman-like qualities are at its peak! But many times, because of the incredible amount of changes that the body experience, many women feel very awkward with themselves, and deep inside they feel that the rest of the world does not understand them.
And in many ways it is true. How can anybody that is not experiencing exactly the same thing can ever understand that a whole new human being is growing inside another body? The Yogilates classes are a place where pregnant women can feel at home with themselves. They can learn to develop a silent and very intimate connection with her own body and her baby by getting more in contact with her own instincts and trusting her own intuition.
Many women became afraid of pregnancy because they feel they don't know enough about it. And of course in a sense it is true, they do need to inform themselves by talking to people and reading books and going to courses, etc., still, the body already knows the most important aspects of the pregnancy process.
Although our technology has made the whole process of delivery much safer, for thousands and thousands of years women have been delivering babies and very deep inside they know how to do it; and so what she needs to do is not so much to learn new things, but much more importantly, she needs to get in contact with her intuitive process. She needs to learn to trust herself, her own inner wisdom and her own inner nature.
Yogilates will also help you to improve your posture, one of the main reasons of extra pain in the body. When the posture becomes more equilibrated, it improves the circulation of the blood and that of the fluids, making one even able to breathe better. And so the whole body relaxes more and becomes more in harmony with the whole nature. When the woman is able to feel more relaxed, her energy circulates more openly and she becomes more centered and whole. So she is able to convey this energy to her baby.
And of course, there are many exercises we do to improve the circulation of the body and the flexibility of the hips and the spine, to strengthen arms and legs, to learn about the perineal area (how to strengthen and especially how to relax it), to develop coordination and concentration and in short, to prepare the body for this incredible and unforgettable journey.
